My daughters birthday is in May and she will be 4 this year, so we are having a big "4th" celebration. We saved toilet tissue rolls and made them into firecracker invitations. We spray painted them red, added a sparkly pipe cleaner(for the fuse) and some tinsel on top for the flame.  Then we made a label that went around the firecraker with the party information on it. For decorations:  I found everything that I could with red, white and blue, stars , flags anything patriotic. We made our own party hats out of foam, foam stars and pipe cleaners.  I found this on the family fun website, they look like firecrackers. I also made a wreath for the front door that goes with the theme of the party.  I got out the red spray paint again, added some patriotic ribbon, some stars and a some glitter.  Food: We will cookout and have hotdogs and fixins, baked beans, chips and watermelon.  We will have sodas and drink boxes all served on ice, out of the red wheelbarrow. (That I spray painted red) For the cake, I will make a two layered cake, frosted white and will be making red and blue jello stars to place on it.  Candles will be the extra long ones so they will look like sparklers. Games: We are going to play pin the fuse on the firecracker, a relay race, pass the firecracker and a waterballon toss if it is warm enough. Craft: I will bake some star cookies on a stick before the party and let the kids decorate the cookies.   Dad will be putting on a fireworks show at the end of the party and goodies to take home will be passed out.  They will get a plastic red cup with stars on it, a small flag, a patriotic pencil, a sheet of star stickers, a party popper, bubbles, some sparkers and pop rocks.
