Fourth of July party We have reserved a pavillion at our local park, we are serving finger foods - hamburgers, hot dogs, short ribs, corn on the cob, watermelon, chips, etc... This makes for little or no silverware thus cleanup will be much easier. I am making cupcake cones instead of a traditional cake and will have ice cream cups. I have made noise makers for the kids out of toilet paper rolls covered in blue paper and red and white stars adheared to the outside, I have filled the tubes with a handful of beans for the noise and have red, white and blue ribbons attached. I have also made luminaries out of white paper bags and glued red and blue tissue paper squares inside and will have them filld with sand for weight and a candle lit inside each one for the evening hours before the fireworks start. As fr activities the park of course has playscapes, but also a basketball court, tennis court, bike and walking path and soccer fields, we plan on having a watermelon seed spitting contest, three legged race,a bike race and so on.
