Christmas Ornament Party This is a very easy party to put together and you can invite lots of kids! Invite kids to the birthday party and indicate that it is an ornament party. Include this instruction as part of a poem or indicate at the bottom of the invitation "Ornaments Preferred!". Each child brings an ornament for the birthday girl (boy). I have Santa Claus come and each child has an opportunity to sit in his lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. Santa gives each child a bag that includes an ornament from my daughter as well as some other goodies. I also take a Polaroid picture of each child with Santa for them to take home. Parents can also take pictures of their child with Santa - which is less stressful than standing in line at the mall. In fact, after a few years my friends would call in November to make sure I was having this party again! I thought this was a good idea, because in December the last thing your child needs is MORE TOYS! Also, ornaments come in a wide variety of price ranges. I have done this for several years and each of my daughters have 8-foot trees full of ornaments that are special. When they move out, they will have lots of their own Christmas decorations to take with them.
