Christmas Birthday party for 5 year old  My daughter's birthday is on Dec 8th. THis year she wanted a Christmas Birthday party. It was a great and easy way to throw a party. We already had the tree and all the decorations up. There were so many different plates, napkins etc to choose from. She decided to pick a pointsetta theme. I bought plates and treat bag with pointsettas on them. I also found some pretty table cloths with red and gold to match and can be used over and over again. We put pointsettas on the tables for centerpieces. We played a lot of fun games. First we played "Frosty Snowman"(same as Hot potato) The kids sat in a circle and passed the snowman beanie around until the Christmas music stopped playing. We also played pin the star on the christmas tree. I made a christmas tree out of poster board ahead of time. I then made stars out of yelllow card stock and wrote everyone's names on them. The tree also said "Happy 5th Birthday Sarah" on it. Then each child got to try and get the star on top the tree. We used a scarf as a blindfold. They had a blast with this game. I took a picture of the tree afterwards so we could have a memory of all the kids that were  here with their names on the stars. The next game we played which was everyone's favorite was "Freeze Dance" I played a regaee version of Jingle Bells and the kids had to freeze when the music stopped. They wanted to play this over and over again. We played until everyone got a present. I had wrapped Christmas coloring books and other little items with Christmas wrap and put them into a pillowcase to look like Santa's sack.  We had all the guests place the gifts under the tree. After the games we had the birthday girl open her presents under the tree while everyone gathered around. In the treat bags I placed some chocolate christmas candies, candy canes, chirstmas pencils, christmas stamps and a few other novelty items. we of course had the usual cake and i found santa and tree shaped ice cream. The kids loved the shaped ice cream and barely touched the cake!! Everyone had a blast and I got tons of compliments on the party!! I sent the pointsettas home with each adult.
