Well, it was my 13th birthday party, and I wanted to do something different. As my birthday was on 20th december, I decided to hold a Christmas party. For the invitations, I bought some up-to-date christmas cards (with a big glittery snowflake on the front) and listed the details inside.       On the day of the actual party, the first thing we did is went tobogganing at our local snowdome (i think there's only these in the U.K) For those who do not know what tobogganing is, it's sleding on ice, except in little toboggans. After around an hour of happy, fun tobogganing, we went into a hired room in the snowdome. It was decorated with Christmas trees, and tinsel, and balloons, and glitter. Once in the room, Christmas songs were played, and we played a game of bobbing snowballs. It's the same as bobbing apples, except with fake snowballs (toffee apples covered in coconot.) We filled up a small bin with marsh mallows, and places the 'snowballs' inside. Then we dipped our head in, grabbing the snowball with our mouth. Once every had had a turn at 'bobbing' we happily ate our snoballs, and then scoffed all the marsh mallows. We then had Kareoke, but my mates could only choose Xmas songs to sing. We were all surprised at how bashful we were, but when we got up there, we found it fun.      When the main section of the party was drawing to a close, we ate. And personally, I found this the best bit of the party. We first ate a delicious serving of Xmas turkey, with smowman coctails (very simple! Lemonade in a wine glass, with sugar round the rim, and a slice of lemon, with a white umbrealla) served with plain ol' carrots, mash-potatoe snowballs, and gravy. A typical christmas dinner. For dessert, my mom had made a spectacular buffet of snowball cakes, marshmallow snowmen, more snowball coconut-covered tofee apples, fig rolls, minature xmas fruit cakes, gummy snowmen, ice cream reindeers, sherbert icicles, cookies (which everyone decorated themselves with white icing, white chocolate drops and coconut.) Surprisingly, nobody was full, so the birthday girl got to have her cake. It was an 'angel' cake. The actual cake was, infact angel cake, with white icing, and marzipan wings, with huge white chocolate eyes, and a golden layer of icing for a dress, which, to my surprise, my friends had made with my mom and dad the previous day.       After a great day, everyone except five of my closest friends went home. The six of us then went back to my house and shared a sleepover, starting with 'spin the icicle' and truth or dare. Apart from that, everything was non-christmas themed, because I wanted to do all the things a 13 yr old girl would do, like watching scary movies, giving each other make overs, swopping secrets etc.        The next moring, when it was time for everyone to go home, I gave them christmas goodie bags, with candy canes, a slice of my birthday cake and a mini xmas pressie (wrapped in xmas paper and all) inside. It had been an excellent party, my best ever party infact, and even though with an xmas theme, it wasn't babyish for a 13 yr old. The best thing about having my birthday party (and my birthday) on the 20th December, is 5 days later, I get more presents, treats and games!!!!!
