Reindeer Brunch Party for a December Birthday - For my daughter's 4th birthday, we had a reindeer theme - there are so many wonderful Christmas ideas for a December birthday that it was hard to choose what to do. The invitations were shaped like reindeer cut from brown paper with red noses - "Join us for some reindeer games" was written inside with the party details.  When guests arrived, they had their noses painted red and wore reindeer antlers for party hats (simple brown paper bands with antlers taped on).  Guests decorated gift bags with reindeer stickers, die-cuts to glue and markers (bags were used later for pinata goodies and game prizes).  They also made a reindeer craft (can find many by searching the web sites or visiting the craft stores in Nov/Dec.). Then we had pancake breakfast (the party was at 9:30am) - pancakes for 11 four year olds ended up being easier than we expected.  After breakfast, we played three simple games - Pin the Nose on Rudolph, a musical cake walk type game (where each person eliminated received a prize and the last two won bigger prizes), and then a Santa pull-string pinata.  We opened gifts and then served cupcakes decorated like reindeer (chocolate frosting, a large red candy nose, candy canes for antlers and white frosting with mini chocolate chips for the eyes).  We didn't have party favors because the children received prizes and toys in the pinata.  It was a great party and we had lots of fun!
