We have an annual Christmas Tea Party for my daughters . They are age 3 and 7. This year we had it on Dec. 23(cutting it close but the parents love it because they can get in some last minute shopping.) WE send a cute Christmas invitation and online invitations.  We ask the guest to bring an inexpensive gift to exchange from the dollar tree or some other thrift place. They also dress in Christmas attire which  makes great pictures.  So far no one has ruined any clothing. WE use our churches fellowship hall which is already decorated for Christmas with beautiful red linen on the table and we add a few things from the house.  This saves a lot of decorating budget money. The church also has silver platters that we use and other decorations.   We have Christmas music playing when they enter.  .I make place cards for the girls that they pick up as they enter and place where they want to sit.  We begin the party by making an ornament or Christmas item. I ordered from oriental trading com.  Very inexpensive.   After we make the ornament everyone has arrived and we begin the tea.  I always take the trays around and serve the girls they love it . We usually have finger foods such as pizza bagels, egg rolls , cheese and sausage balls etc. The girls eat off of Christmas dishes that I bought at dollar tree and drink out of miniature wine glasses. When they are finished eating we open presents by putting numbers on gifts and then drawing out, then we decorate either gingerbread men or cookies. The kids love taking these home and showing what they have done. Next year a few of my friends want to join in and we are going to rent a limo and take the girls to see the lights at the Bristol Motor Speedway . I can't wait.
