Last Christmas my 6 year old daughter and I decided to have a Mommy and Daughter Christmas Tea Party. We had 8 of her cousins and friends ages 2 to 6 yrs and moms attend. The house was already decorated for Christmas. The upstairs setup for the girls. The 2 kid size round tables had Christmas china setting for eight. The small chairs had Santa covers, each place setting had their name and very own Christmas Teddy bear. Downstairs was setup for the mommies with Silver Tea Service, Christmas China and a different assortment of teas. We served lemonade for the girls with finger sandwiches, petit fours and an assortment for Christmas cookies. The moms had scones, tea sandwiches and also petit fours. For activity we hired a lady who does dressup parties for girls. She brought every style and size of party dresses, long and short. She also brought accessories like boas, hats, crowns and jewelry for the girls to dress up in. She was there the whole time to assist the girls. She would help them change into whatever they wanted to put on. And after they were dressed, they put on a fashion show for the moms. The girls probably changed 4 or 5 different times! We had a wonderful time watching them dressup and model their different selections. We all took plenty of pictures and video cameras were also being used. When they made their final selection, they finally sat down for tea (lemonade! My daughter being the perfect little hostess went around and offered the girls more tea or sugar. When they finished, we cleared the tables for a craft activity. They dressed up paper doll cutouts. Everyone had a wonderful time! All of the moms also offered to bring each of the girls a small gift. My sister-in-law bought each girl a tea set of their own. Her sister bought each girl a dressup outfit and each girl also bought a gift to exchange. Everyone pitched in to make the party a great memory for each one of the girls. The only big expense was the hiring of the Party Dress Up service which my sister-in-law and I split the bill of $150.00, I also rented the Silver Tea Service (no need to have to clean silver!). I made all the sandwiches and everyone brought Christmas cookies. The party was a big success!!!
