My sons birthday is in December - - the time of year everyone has the hustle and bustle of Christmas. He turned 5 on the 12th. We really didn't think that we would have many kids come to the party. He invited his whole class. 21 children thinking that only 10 would come. Opps we had 22 kids at his party. Being December we went with a Christmas theme. We had the children all decorate a small gingerbread house made out of graham crackers, using royal icing to glue them together we had pre-assembled them for the kids to decorate. Jellybeans and lots of special Christmas candies were used. We had small Styrofoam balls and made snowmen out of them. We had a game called pass the large candy cane, instead of musical chairs, the last child won the large candy cane. I had also made a piņata and filled it full of Christmas pencils and erasers candy and little treats for the kids. With all the children in our small home it was a little cramped so we took turns at a few games. I also had bought some plain paper on a roll at the Ikea store and posted it up and down my hall way it covered the whole hall and we let the children draw on the paper on the walls. The party was 2 1/2 hours long and the children had such a wonderful time. Goodie bags where handed out and not one child didn't have a smile on there face. Its been Its been 8 1/2 years since Donovans 5 th birthday party I still bump into the kids that came to that party and parents and they still talk about it! I have 2 other children now and I always make birthdays very special! Good luck in all your party planning!!!
