Since my daughter's birthday is only a week before Christmas, there is never any doubt to the theme. We usually pick a different winter holiday each year (i.e. kwanzaa, Hanukah, new years, saint lucia, Christmas) to be the main theme - this year, it is Christmas. For the invitation, I took a piece of red paper, and glued it atop a larger piece of green paper so there was about one centimeter of green showing on each side of the red paper. Then, in silver pen I wrote: 'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Then the party begun and all were having much fun. So come see for yourself, dress as Santa or elf. Then I gave all the information such as date, time, location, etc. When the girls arrived, they designed decorations by coloring, glittering, etc. on to wooden shaped tree decorations. Then, I gave them each a two and one half foot tall miniature Christmas tree ($3 each from craft store) for them to light and put their decorations on. Then, we decorated Christmas cookies. I set out red and green sprinkles, red and green frosting, star shaped sprinkles, and anything else to do with Christmas. During both activities, I put on Christmas music such as Jingle Bell Rock and Silent Night. For favors, each girl received their tree/decorations, cookies, stuffed Rudolph, and red/green accessories.
