Every year I have a cookie exchange party. I wait until about 3 weeks before Christmas and make invatations on the computer using red lettering with a pretty Christmas border, and invite 10 friends and family menbers. I ask each one to bake 10 and 1/2 dozen cookies and bring them to the party on a pretty tray to display. I ask that they only bring home made cookies and to let me know what they are bringing so they are all different. We all dress for the occacion in festive Christmas clothes. I have the house decorated and have the tree up and lit with Christmas Music playing. I set the table with red and gold. I use a red lace table cloth with gold under it, I use my gold flat ware and Christmas dishes, I make a place card for each person with a thank you thanking themfor attending my Christmas Tea Cookie Exchange Party. I buy a gift for each person form either Big Lots or the Dollar Store and wrap them in pretty Christmas Paper and put one at each persons plate(nothing expensive just a dollar or two). Its just a day for the ladies, I usually have it on a Sat. afternoon so Dad's can watch the little ones. I serve lunch and punch (red )and then after that 2 or three of us devide the cookies and every one leaves with there 10 dozen cookies on there pretty tray and there Christmas baking is all done.
