Oh the weather outside is frightful and what could be more delightful... than a Holiday Cookie Party! To make the invitations you will need red and green construction paper, ribbon, gold glitter, spray glue, and a large gingerbread man cookie cutter, and a black pen. Decorate the envelopes with red and green paper and rub on decal snowman( available at any craft store for under 2$) On the invites tell everyone to bring there favorite cookie recipes on 3x5 cards. The focus if your cookie party is of course the kitchen! Make sure your fully stocked with flour, cookie cutters, baking trays, cooling racks, and rolling pins. Also buy a few Christmas CDs. Harmony House has a great collection! Whether its snowing or not go nuts with that cool snow in a can. Try snow accent paints available at craft stores to make your home into a winter wonderland! One all the guests arrive have them sit down at a table and make hot cocoa or hot cider. Just mix Hershey's syrup and skim milk in a pot for fabulous rich hot cocoa and for hot cider just simmer cider on stove top and add cinnamon sticks or sprinkle cinnamon in! Dip the sponges in paint and your ready to decorate your bags! Exchange recipes and put them in a hard wood box! Most craft stores carry hard wood boxes for decorating. Paint the boxes and put the recipes in. Also you can make popcorn balls and Tree Candy. To make tree candy pile up metal cookie cutters and jolly ranchers. Spray the cutters with non stick cooking spray. Place the cutters on a baking tray and place on baking trays. Cook for 5 min. until jelly. Place a hole through it and it makes an ornament. Make cookies in a jar too! Also make dough logs. Spice up traditional sugar cookie recipes with sweet surprises like sprinkles and cinnamon or finally crushed candy bars.
