Last December my daughter celebrated her 5th birthday. We decided to have a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer party since the house was already decorated for Christmas. It was such a fun party to plan. The invitations were on computer paper that had a fun looking reindeer on the bottom. We added red glitter to it's nose. I made up a fun poem that said, "Rudolph is a reindeer with a shiny, red nose. He's having a party for someone that you know. So, come join Rudolph for some fun, he needs your help that day, to wish Jordyn the very best and have a great birthday. As each child arrived they put on a reindeer hat that was made ahead of time from craft foam. I found it in Oriental Trading Co. We served sandwiches that cut in triangles. I added two brown M&Ms and one red for his face. The antlers were made from straight preztle sticks and stuck in at the top. The cupcakes were frosted with chocolate frosting. Using the same idea from the sandwiches, I decorated the cupcakes the same. For antlers I used miniature candycanes. The table was decorated with a red table cloth. I sprinkled the fake snow all around between the red and green plates. I had rudolph dessert plates and napkins. For the centerpiece, I had a cake that was decorated as a winter wonderland. I found the little characters from the movie at Target and placed them on top of the cake. For music I played the soundtrack from movie. The craft we made was a Rudolph necklace made out of a clothespin. We glued on google eyes and a red pom pom for a nose. To the string we also added red and green beads. For games we played pin the nose on rudolph. The gift bags were brown paper bags. I cut antlers from brown construction paper and glued on wiggle eyes and a red pom pom for a nose. Inside I put a container of Christmas bubbles that just happened to have a rudolph figurine on the top. I also found pencils that said "Jesus is deer to me". I also found Rudolph stickers to put inside along with an old fashioned paddlestick and ball(that was red) with Rudolph painted on it. It was a great hit. I always have the moms of the children stay for lunch too. They loved it as much as the kids. FYI..... Most of the reindeer things came from Oriental Trading. They have everything.
