My daughter's birthday is in October so we planted a pumpkin patch to harvest pumpkins for her pumpkin decorating party to alleviate the cost of purchasing pumpkins for each child. Invitations are a orange and brown checkered border with a pumpkin in the lower left corner along with an option to dress as a scarecrow for a photo op in the pumpkin patch". The location of her party is the Family Life Center at our church. Arrival activity: I have dyed pumpkin seeds in green and orange for pumpkin seed mosiac pumpkin art and I will borrow a large screen from our school to project the movie "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" to play while the party goes on. Decorations: I will use orange brown and green colors for decorating. A Photo op - hay bales corn stalks pumpkins etc. I will set up two sets of tables in a U shape for cake for birthday girl and friends and the other for pumpkin seed art and decorating their pumpkins. There will be two small tables for gifts and party snacks with candy corn sprinkled on the table as edible confetti along with balloons placed all around. I will set up photo op in center of tables. The cake and cupcakes will be pumpkin shaped from large and small bundt pans using fondant icing. Finger foods: apple slices with caramel pretzels orange tortilla chips and salsa orange koolaid in a beverage fountain so the kids can help themselves to refills. Pumpkin decorating will be self stick foam face pieces from oriental trading. The party favors will be their decorated pumpkin and a small brown paper bag of candy corn/pumpkin candy tied off with raffia and a "Thank you" message attached. Scarecrow Photo op pictures will be mailed to party guest along with a pumpkin picture frame from Oriental Trading as a party favor and thank you. Happy harvest to all!"
