We decided to have an adult Valentines Party this year instead of spending crazy money on dinner. We invited about 10 couples- all who attended. I went with a dessert party/wine party. All the guests were asked to bring a bottle of wine and I supplied all the homemade desserts! I decorated the house with lights and flowers. Set up one room with the bar, which included all the wine and chocolate martini's. We started the party at 8pm so if anyone wanted to have dinner out they would have plenty of time.  I had my dining room table set up with all the desserts nicely displayed on pretty trays and platters. Very fancy. We used all dessert plates and red colored napkins.  Once the party was going and everyone was enjoying the desserts and wine we kicked the fun knob up a bit with the Newleywed game". I had written down questions and placed them in bags. Everyone was given a pack of nicely ribboned paper and pens. WE went through the questions taking turns with the husbands and wives. This was by far the best time of the night. Very clean questions nothing sexual or embarrising. Of course I had a prize bag for those couples who matched their answers. Everyone thought this was a great idea. The party was nice because I could prepare all the desserts ahead of time and enjoy the whole party without being stuck in the kitchen. Try one next year!!"
