I hope you have as much fun with this party as I did! My friends and I all had a blast, and I really hope you like it. I came up with all the ideas by myself, but got the invitation idea from www.marthastewart.com as well as a few of the decorating ideas.  INVITATION: You will need assorted fine papers (preferably red, pink, or white), accordian- valentine templates (can be found at www.marthastewart.com/accordian-valentines), a cutting board, bone folder, ruler, and craft-glue dots. 1. Cut four hearts in graduated sizes using the link aboves accordian-valentine templates. For each heart, choose a different kind of paper. 2. Cut a 6-by-19 1/2- inch strip of paper for the base of each card. 3. Using the ruled lines of a cutting board as a guide, lay down a ruler 2 inches above the edge of the paper, and use a bone folder to score a line. Score seven more lines at 2-inch intervals. 4. Once you've completed the scoring, crease the paper back and forth to complete the accordion fold. The 4-inch remainder will be the back of the card -- a suitable place to write a personal message. 5. Find and lightly mark the center of each folded peak. Start at the back peak, and place a glue dot over the center mark. 6. Center the largest heart in place, making sure it does not extend beyond the card. One by one, glue the remaining dots to the card, folding each peak" over the last heart glued to help guide placement. DECORATIONS: Here's where you get to have fun! I chose a color scheme of pink red & white- Valentine's day colors! But if you'd like you can throw in your own favorite colors- after all- it is your party! In your front yard wind pink & white streamers through the tree branches. Dust the path up to your house with pink and white glittery heart shaped confetti. At the very end of your driveway place a bunch of balloons (1 pink 1 red 1 white) on either side. If you'd like you can hang a white canvas sign on your front door that in pink swirly letters says: (your last name) Hotel. Or if you'd rather you can hang a heart shaped leaves made out of roses (which can be found at your local florsit or Fred Meyers). In all the archways of your home hang pink red & white streamers. Tape all three in seperate rows on one end of the archway and then braid the colors and tape the braid at the other end. This is a really classy yet cute look that your party guests are sure to love! And of course to follow a classic birthday party tradition (and because it's really cute) tie a red pink or white balloon on the back of the chairs in your kitchen and dining room. If you don't already have a white table cloth on your kitchen table drape a plastic white tablecloth over it and sprinkle it with pink & red glittery heart shaped confetti. In the center of the kitchen table fill a glass vase with pink jellybeans and then put pink and white tulips in (as if the jellybeans are water). Sprinkle the same glittery confetti over the dining room table. Hang "crayon hearts" in all the dining room windows. To make "crayon hearts" begin with a 12-by-6-inch sheet of waxed paper. Fold it in half along it's length; unfold. Deposit wax-crayon shavings (maded with handheld pencil sharpener)evenly but not thickly across one half of the paper. Fold the clean half of the paper over the shavings. Crimp the three open edges with a 1/2-inch fold to hold the shavings. Protect your ironing surface with kraft paper. Place the waxed paper on the kraft paper and cover it with another sheet of kraft paper. Iron lightly on medium heat checking after every few passes. Stop when all the shavings have melted; let cool. Next trace and cut out hearts of various sizes. String each heart with a silk thread for hanging. In your living room a really crowd pleaser is a few romantic candles. To make these you will need chopsticks a blow-dryer heart-shaped craft punchers in various sizes sheet wax and a pillar candle (preferably white). Punch hears from sheet wax using heart-shaped craft punchers. While holding a single wax heart with chopsticks heat the pillar candle and wax heart using a blow-dryer (this will soften the wax heart causing it to adhere to the candle).Repeat this process until you have attached the desired number of hearts to the candle. Another big hit (my personal favorite) is the "bon-bon filled hearts". Follow the simple instruction below and hang them on a few doorknobs (or every doorknob!) in your house. Fold and unfold a square of plain or patterned lightweight card stock into 4 equal sections. Fold in half once- hotdog style and then the otherway- hamburger style. Fold the card stock vertically and open. Fold it horizontally. Open. Draw two opposite corners of the square inward tucking in the other two cocrners. Trace the heart template on www.marthastewart.com and cut out. Slide fold A behind fold B. Hold in place. Then use a hole punch to pierce both; thread a ribbon through and tie. Fill both sides of the heart with candy. For a diagram of how it's done go to www.marthastewart.com . Another small touch you can add is to stock each bathroom with plenty of candy heart soap. You will need a nonstick 9-inch square pan a heart-shape cookie cutter glass measuring cup glycerin soap bench scraper soap colorant or food coloring a spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol cutting board needlenose pliers 1/8-inch metal letter stamps & masking tape. Using a 2-inch cookie cutter (1 inch high) and 2 1/2 pounds of glycerin soap-sold at craft stores to make 16 hearts. Depending on your equitment yields may vary. To determine how much glycerin you'll need fill pan with water to 1/4 inch below height of cookie cutter; pour water into measuring cup. Record amount; discard water. Cut soap into small pieces with bench scraper; fill measuring cup. Microwave on medium heat until melted; stir. Add soap and heat until you've reached the water amount. Add colorant; stir. Pour liquid into pan. Spray with alcohol to eliminate bubbles. Let harden at room temperature 2 hours. Freeze 10 minutes. Turn upside down onto cutting board. Create soaps with cookie cutter; pull cutter out with pliers if it sticks. Tape stamps together to form words and imprint on soap applying light even pressure. On an easier note string pink & white streamers through your dining room chandelier (if you have one). You may also want braid pink white & red streamers around all staircase railings.  FOOD: SNACKS SET OUT ON DINING ROOM TABLE: . Glass jar of Hot Tamales or Red Hots .
