Valentine Teddy Bear Birthday Bash! Age: 2 year old Invitations: I printed out a poem on pink card stock. Then I cut the invitation in the shape of heart. Then, I cut the heart in three pieces. This way the parents and child had to put the invitation together like a puzzle before knowing the message! I sent the pieces in pink envelopes with the "Love" stamps adhered. Poem: On February 9th, it's the date, to come to Sara's house to celebrate. She'll turn two and 10:30 is the time, to join the fun for Valentine's! Pink, white or red, you should wear, To get your photo with the Valentine Bear! I. Guest Arrival: Each child's photo was taken on a decorated rocking chair. The child held a large stuffed animal Valentine bear. The photos were sent to the children in thank you notes. II. Family Room Centers: To entertain the children while guests were arriving, children could participate in three activities: a play dough area (pink homemade play dough with heart cutters were provided), a coloring area (a coffee table was covered with white butcher paper and washable crayons were provided) and a dress up center (three boxes of assorted hats, shoes, sun glasses, wigs,tutus...)were provided with hand held mirrors. III. Stuctured Activity I: Once all the children had arrived and had a chance to engage in one or more of the centers, I asked the parents and children to make a circle and sit on the floor. I distributed premade home made tamborines. The tamborines were made by hot glueing two white plastic plates together. Prior to glueing, I placed a handful of Cheerio cereal on one plate. Then, I hot glued another plate on top of it. The cereal makes the rattle sound. The "tamborines" was given to each child. The children then decorated them with heart stickers. Afterwards, my husband played music on his guitar and the children played their tamborines. Recorded music can be used also. IV. Stuctured Activity II: The children made Valentine cards. Card stock was pre folded. The children decorated the cards with foam stickers and pom poms. Glue was given to each child in small cups with a Q tip for putting the glue on the pom poms. \*\*Both crafts were placed in paper bags with each child's name printed on the bag for easy carry home. V. Snack: Valentine cookies, miniture Valentine cupcakes, juice boxes and a snack pack of pretzels were served to each child. VI. Table Setting: A pink and white linen table cloth was placed on the table. Dollies and paper hearts were places on the table as decoration. Pink streamers were hung around the room. Stuffed animal teddy bears were placed in the middle of the table. Each bear wore a birthday hear and a paper heart was placed in each one of the teddy bear's hands. VII. Goodie Bags: I bought small canvas goodie bags with heart decorations. A heart paddle ball toy, a small teddie bear ornament and party size play dough was placed in the goodie bags.
